President Buhari Reacts As Emir Of Daura Is Rushed To The Clinic Over Coronavirus Complications
President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the news that the Emir of Daura (his hometown), Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar is critically ill.
The President in a statement on Wednesday through Mallam Garba Shehu, his senior special assistant on media and publicity, prayed for the quick recovery of the traditional ruler.
As previously reported by Naija News, the Emir of Daura was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Federal Medical Centre Katsina over coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Emir reportedly contracted COVID-19 from Kastina State index case, Dr Aminu Yakubu, his personal physician, who died of the virus last month.
President Buhari who noted that “he received the news of the Emir’s sudden illness with concern,” sent best wishes for the speedy recovery of the monarch.
“I join the Daura Emirate and the entire people of Katsina State in praying for the recovery of our humble and dedicated Emir, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar,” he said.
