APC In Dilemma As PDP Adopts Indirect Primaries In Edo, Ondo State
Peoples Democratic Party on Monday noted that delegates will determine the fate of governorship aspirants in the Edo and Ondo states.
The Peoples Democratic Party has settled for the indirect mode of primaries for the party’s governorship primaries in Edo and Ondo State.
The party on Monday noted that delegates will determine the fate of governorship aspirants in the two states.
The development was disclosed at a media briefing in Abuja, by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.
PDP further stated that the processes were put in place to ensure only the best candidates emerge as its standard-bearers in the forthcoming elections.
Ologbodiyan said, “The PDP under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus, will ensure transparency and that a candidate out of the eminently qualified aspirants, that is acceptable to the Edo people emerges.”
“The PDP will be choosing our candidate for the Edo and Ondo governorship elections through an indirect primary.”
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, is yet to settle for a mode of primary to operate in Edo and Ondo State.
The National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole and the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has been going back and forth on the mode of primaries to accept in the state.
