Nigeria Records 501 New Cases of COVID-19
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on Saturday, June 13 reported five hundred and one confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
The NCDC confirmed the new cases on Saturday night at about 11:42 pm on its verified official account on the microblogging site, Twitter. This brings the overall confirmed cases of the novel virus in Nigeria to 15682 with records of 5101 patients discharged, while 407 reportedly died.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has urged Nigerians to call their state hotlines if they experience certain symptoms.
In a post on its Twitter handle, NCDC listed the symptoms as loss of taste/smell, body pain, headache, diarrhea, catarrh, etc.
It read: “If you have COUGH or FEVER and 1 of these symptoms
loss of taste/smell
Difficulty breathing
Diarrhea
Cattarh
Fatigue
Shivering
Body pain
Headache
Sore throat
“Please call your state hotline for advice.”
The hotlines can be found on NCDC’s website and social media pages.
Over 80 Health Workers Test positive To COVID-19 In Rivers
About 22 doctors and 60 other health workers have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus disease in Rivers State Government.
This was announced by the Chairperson of the state’s chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Obelebra Adebiyi in Port Harcourt yesterday.
Adebiyi further called on the government to do a review of the hazard allowance being paid to doctors who were employed by the state government.
She noted also that the health workers lack adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as the combat the virus.
