COVID-19: Lagos State Issues Fresh Directive To School Owners
The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) warned owners and administrators of some primary and secondary schools against reopening.
In a statement on Monday, the Director-General, OEQA, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, stated that any school that defies the directive of the Federal and State Governments would be sanctioned.
She kicked against reports of some private primary and secondary school owners inviting students to school despite the government’s directives to close schools.
Mrs Seriki-Ayeni revealed that the Office Monitoring and Investigation team would embark on monitoring exercises across the State in order to ensure compliance.
According to her, this is to ensure that schools adhere to the safety directives issued by the government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.
She appealed to the public or anyone with useful information on such defiant schools to contact the office through its official emails: [email protected] or [email protected].
