Ondo 2020: I Won’t Resign As Akeredolu’s Deputy, I Only Dumped APC – Ajayi
The deputy governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi has said that he would not resign his position as the deputy governor of the state despite the fact that he resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He insisted that he was still the deputy to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as he was elected by the people, and he is still serving their mandate.
Agboola, who on Sunday also joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said “It’s my people that voted for me. They did not ask me to resign, so I remain the deputy governor of this state. I was duly elected as a deputy governor,”.
Naija News recalls that the deputy governor was involved in a faceoff with security operatives led by the state commissioner of police, Bolaji Salami who prevented him from moving his effects out of the state government house.
Mr Ajayi is expected to officially join PDP on Monday where he would be received by the party national chairman, Uche Secondus.
