The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun has debunked the allegation that some lawmakers collected money to impeach the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
Naija News understands that Mr Tope Okeowo, the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, alleged that 26 lawmakers of the state House of Assembly collected N10 million each to “illegally” impeach his boss.
However, while reacting on the allegations, Oleyelogun stated that the allegation was baseless, adding that no lawmaker had been induced.
“The statement is madness. There is nothing like that. Nobody has collected any Kobo to impeach anyone,” he said
Naija News recalls that the embattled deputy governor had officially decamped from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.
