Gov. Wike Reveals Why Obaseki Defeated Ize-Iyamu In 2016
Wike in his statement noted that Ize-Iyamu lost to the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, in 2016 because the people saw that he ‘would not be a good leader’.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has slammed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in Edo State.
Wike in his statement noted that Ize-Iyamu lost to the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, in 2016 because the people saw that he ‘would not be a good leader’.
Ize-Iyamu in 2016 was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and was defeated by Obaseki who contested under APC.
The Rivers State Governor in a post on his Twitter account noted that the Edo election is not an ‘Obaseki election’ but for the people of the South-South.
According to him, “There would be no intimidation in the Edo election, the people must choose who they want.”
“All the South-South Governors would be in Edo State to support our brother Governor.”
“Edo people rejected Ize Iyamu in the last election because they saw he wouldn’t be a good Governor.”
“Edo election is not an Obaseki election but for the people of the South-South.”
“It is time for the South-South to speak with one voice.”
