Our Politicians Are Using Us To Catch Cruise – Nigerians React To Ngige/Faleke Video
Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige on Wednesday, engaged in a war of words with a member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke.
Ngige labelled Faleke a ‘small boy’ and claimed he was the lawmaker’s mentor’s mate.
The exchange of words occurred when Ngige appeared before the Adhoc Committee of the House to answer questions over an alleged breach of a presidential directive.
The Minister of Labour and Employment has been accused of suspended top management and executive committee members of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), although the presidential directive bars ministers from sacking heads of agencies.
Faleke accused Ngige of hijacking the NSITF’s budget and removing the board to cover his tracks.
Ngige while speaking before the house said, “I am at least seven years older than you. I’m sure.”
“I am the same age as your mentor in Lagos, Asiwaju (Bola Ahmed Tinubu). And I was Governor with him at the same time. He was a Senator, I was a Senator.”
“I am a two-time Minister, he is a two-time Minister.”
Faleke reacted: “But you won these elections very well?”
Ngige, however, fired back: “No problem about that. Just like you won your own in Kogi State very well and you are now both the Governor and Deputy Governor.”
“You are just a small boy in Lagos. Look at this Mushin boy, talking to a Victoria Island boy.”
After the video clip of the exchange between the two leaders went viral, Nigerians have taken to the streets of Twitter to react, with many describing the incident as a show of shame.

Some Nigerians also alleged the exchange was done to shift the focus and attention of people away from the real matter been discussed, adding that leadership and governance has been brought to a new low.
Someone tell what exactly is happening in this country.
Even #bbnaijalockdown2020 doesn’t have the quality flight that is currently going on in every sector of governance in this country.

U take politicians too serious on this street. D probes by @nassnigeria is often a circus. Akpabio & Ngige as former legislators know this. D modus is attack on national TV & settle later behind closed doors. As d probe goes on, aides are already arranging for meetings after

From EFCC, the Pondei NDDC drama to Ngige & Faleke. Doesn’t it just make u sick to the stomach? Such clownish infantile displays at the highest stage of our nation. The rot has gotten so bad we can no longer hide the maggots. Do we still have a president? What a circus!

Chris Ngige successfully distracted everyone from the main topic. Being a Nigerian is a mental exercise. pic.twitter.com/ZFKpNoBmpZ

Ngige’s dressing-down of Faleke highlights the I-am-older-than you excuse with which people in OFFICIAL places pass up responsibility.
I’d have understaood if Ngige disgareed with Faleke on the basis of things like competence or moral presence.
But age? In an official context?

APC nd Buhari govt never told Nigerians that they will use their second term to shoot film, what a show of disgrace between Chris Ngige and Faleke.

If the Hon Members have learnt to adopt Honourable approach to personalities, there won’t be any room for all these. Before you blame Senator Chris Ngige, vindicated the Hon. Member Faleke first.

Dear Chris Ngige, you might be age mates with @AsiwajuTinubu but kindly note that Asiwaju is not your mate. Mate get level. Next time just stick to the questions u were asked. Thank you.

I think it’s very rude and insane of Ngige to have attacked Tinubu for no reason. Some of these politicians are quick to forget their history. I wish to submit that elements like Ngige sponsor attacks on Tinubu. He’s suddenly a hero of IPOBians. And they want the Presidency!

The ngige video & the Akpabio + Pandei video just tend to show these people don’t regard or rate us at all.
