FG Announces Date For Resumption Of Abuja-Kaduna Train Service
The federal government of Nigeria has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna rail transport service will resume on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
This was announced by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and amplified on Saturday in a Twitter post by Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Naija News recalls the rail services were suspended by the government as part of efforts to contain the further spread of COVID-19 in the country.
As the government begins to reopen different sectors of the economy, it has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna rail activities will resume on Wednesday and full COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
“The #AbujaKadunaRail will resume operations on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the COVID-19 protocols, including hands washing and social distancing are set to be strictly observed at the stations and onboard as announced by the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi,” the statement noted.

The announcement comes after the newly acquired locomotives and coaches for the Abuja-Kaduna Rail line were inspected by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
