Dr Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide, has called on Muhammadu Buhari-government to stop banks from selling recharge cards.
Okupe, who recently recovered from COVID-19, stated this in a post on his Twitter page on Tuesday.
The former presidential aide said selling of recharge cards can provide jobs for 5 million unemployed youths.
Okupe called on the government to protect small and medium scale enterprises.
He wrote: “Govt must stop Banks from selling of RECHARGE cards.
“This business is worth about N10B/day& can provide jobs for 5m youths nationwide and reduce unemployment.
“Banks should not be in the retail business where they strangulate small individual traders.
“Govt must protect MSMEs.”
