Brutai Keeps Mum As Lance Corporal Martins Was Allegedly Killed In Detention
The leadership of the Nigerian army has seemingly kept mute and in responsive to a fresh allegation of murder of the Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini, the detained soldier arrested for criticising Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.
It was understood that lance was killed by the army as a punishment for his action. The news platform that first reported the alleged murder, Sahara reporters, revealed that top sources within the army had informed Sahara Reporters that Buratai had vowed to deal ruthlessly with the detained soldier for his action and also treat the order of Justice Chikere with disdain.
However, The Nigerian Army has always hindered the lawyer of Lance Corporal Martins Idakpani, Tope Akinyode, from having access to him despite an order from a Federal High Court compelling the army to grant Akinyode access to the soldier.
Idakpani has been in detention since June for allegedly insulting the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Tukur Buratai; and the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin in a video which was spotted on social media platforms.
The soldier was arrested alongside his wife, Victoria, but she was released days later, but Idakpani has since been left in detention without access to family or lawyer.
