Ganduje Intends To Support Private School Teachers In Kano
The Kano State Government has announced that it will provide support to teachers and private school staff to alleviate the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, made the announcement while launching the distribution of Coronavirus prevention kits to 538 public and private schools. Ganduje, who was represented by his deputy, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, said the owners of the private schools had complained to the government about the challenges faced by their staff as a result of the Coronavirus epidemic.
Gawuna said the government would look into the matter to find a solution. Regarding the distribution of protective equipment, Ganduje said this was part of the state government’s plans to send final graders to schools to sit for exams.
According to him, among the protective equipment are face masks, sanitizer, a hand-washing machine under running water and a thermometer. Ganduje added that the state government was on the verge of success in the fight against COVID-19.
He called on the residents of the state to be vigilant in complying with the rules and regulations prescribed by the health authorities to curb the spread of the virus.
Ganduje said the government had forced the imposition of face masks everywhere across the state, not just in schools. He said there would soon be persecuted law in the state. He called on school principals, teachers and other staff to make sure that they are equipped with the necessary protective equipment distributed by the government to prevent the spread of the disease among students.
In his address, the state commissioner of education, Sanusi Kiru, said the Kano state government was the only state in the federation to take responsibility for the distribution of protective equipment in schools.
