Magu appeared before the Justice Ayo Salami-led panel for several days and was in Police custody for several days before he was granted bail.

The 7-man panel is led by former Appeal Court President, Justice Isa Ayo Salami (rtd) – North Central (Kwara). Other members are: DIG Anthony Ogbizi Michael (NPF)- South-South – Deputy Chairman Muhammad Abubakar Babadoko (FMOJ)- North Central- Member Hassan Yahaya Abdullahi (DSS) – North Central (Member) Muhammad Shamsuddeen (OAGF)- North West (Member) Douglas Egweme (NFIU) – South-East (Member) Barr Kazeem Attitebi – South-West – Secretary.

Buhari’s letter granting approval to the judicial panel was dated July 3, 2020, but its terms of reference and allegation against Magu were made available to him on Saturday, August 8.

Some presidency sources revealed that the panel has been given 45 days to submit its report. It is however not clear if the days already spent by the panel will be counted as part of the 45 days.
