EFCC: Detained Lawyers Testifying In Magu’s Probe Released On Bail
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)has released barrister Victor Giwa and Hadjia Fatima Hassan, on bail after attempt to testify before retired Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential Panel inside Aso Villa .
It will be recalled that a mild drama action occurred yesterday evening as security agents on Wednesday whisked away an Abuja based lawyer, and a lady while testifying before the retired Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential Panel inside Aso Villa.
Naija new learnt the lawyers, Victor Giwa and Hadjia Fatima Hassan, were granted bail from the EFCC custody on Thursday night after they were asked to produce grade a level 12 officer of the Federal service as surety.
The Salami-led panel is probing the activities of the agency under Magu who was alleged to have mishandled recovered loot and sold seized assets to his associates.
Meanwhile, the Suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, has again written to the Chairman of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry asking to be availed of the copies of documents so far tendered against him by those who have appeared before the commission.
