APC, PDP Disagrees Over Hike In Fuel Pump Price& Electricity Tariff
The recent hikes in fuel price and electricity tarrif has caused has major backlash on the APC-led government from the opposition party and other key stakeholder in the Industry.
Naija New reported that the Peoples Democratic party(PDP) in a statement, via its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, described the increment as “callous, cruel and punishing”.
Ologbondiyan demanded that the increment be reversed to avert “a national crisis”, adding that the developments would “worsen the biting hardship being faced by Nigerians.”
However, the APC defended that the action of its government by stating that the new hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol is justifiable.
the ruling party said the new pricing template reflects “competitive and market driven components which is supported by the citizenry.”
The APC asked the opposition party to “cajole its cronies” to return petrol subsidy funds allegedly looted by its cronies.
“Under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration,” Yekini Nabena, APC deputy spokesman, said in a statement.
