Mali’s Former President,Moussa Traoré Is Dead

Mali’s former President M,oussaTraoré has died on Tuesday, September 15, ten days to his 84th birthday.
Traoré took power at the age of 32 following a coup that overthrew Mali’s first post-independence president, Modibo Keita.
General Moussa Traoré ruled the Republic of Mali for 22 years before he was overthrown in March 1991.
He died as a respected elder statesman with great political influence. The CNSP military junta visited him after they took over power in a coup that led to the resignation of former President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on August 18.
