Gunmen Kill Two Soldiers, Seize Their Riffles In Abia
Gunmen have reportedly killed two officers of the Nigerian Army, went away with their guns in Abia State.
According to reports, the gallant men attached to 144 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Asa, were attacked and killed while on duty at Owaza.
Naija News learnt that the brutal attack which claimed lives of two officers of the army also left some with injuries.
Further reports, however, confirmed that two of the gunmen were also killed by the soldiers who retaliated.
According to a source who spoke with newsmen, the injured soldiers were currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed medical facility.
In a statement, Abia State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi, said Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had directed security agencies in the state to ensure that perpetrators of the attacks were apprehended immediately and the stolen weapons recovered.
In another news, 30 people were burn alive on Wednesday morning in Kogi after a collision between a tanker and a tricycle, Naija News reports.
