ASUU Meeting Ends In Deadlock After Seven Month Strike
The meeting between leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and the Federal Government on Wednesday ended in deadlock.
Students, members of the union and Nigerians were expecting a breakthrough in the meeting which will pave way for resumption of academic activities.
However, there was setback following the absence of the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu and Minister of Finance Mrs. Zainab Ahmed.
They were at the National Assembly defending their ministry budget for 2021.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige was in attendance.
ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, while speaking after the meeting said, “there was nothing new”.
He also refused to say anything further after the meeting which yielded no result after seven-month strike
