Many Boko Haram Leaders Killed As NAF Fighter Jets Bomb Sambisa Forest (Video)
Troops of the Nigerian Military have inflicted further casualties on Boko Haram terrorists after bombing their hideout in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State.
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major-General John Enenche in a statement on Thursday, 7th January disclosed that the air task force of the Operation Lafiya Dole carried out the operation.
He added that many high-value Boko Haram leaders were killed in the airstrike which took place on Wednesday, 6th January.
Enenche noted that the troops will not relent until all troubled areas are liberated and normalcy returned to affected communities.
“The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has inflicted heavy casualties on Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State and taken out their hideouts in Alagarno, including a compound housing some high-value BHT leaders.”
“The compound, concealed under thick vegetation and located 2.3Km North East of KAFA, was being used by the terrorists to coordinate their nefarious activities.”
“The destruction of the locations was achieved through multiple air strikes executed on 6 January 2021 as the ATF dispatched appropriate force packages of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and attack helicopters to engage the target areas in day and night raids.”
“The BHTs were spotted under the dense vegetation of the locations and the NAF attack aircraft took turns in engaging the targets, neutralizing several of them.”
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria will not relent until all enemies of the Nation are neutralised and normalcy is restored to all troubled zones,” Enenche noted in his statement.

Meanwhile, suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group have attacked Geidam, a town in Yobe State, north-east Nigeria.
According to Premium Times, the attack was still on at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
The insurgents stormed the town shooting sporadically causing many residents to panic and flee into the bush while others hid in their houses.
A resident, who managed to speak in a terrified voice, said “The gunshot outside is so much. I can’t talk now please.”
The State police Public Relation Officer, Abdulkarim Dungus, also told Premium Times that he heard the Divisional Police Officer of Geidam firing from his gun when he tried to contact him.
“I called my DPO in Geidam and he is also under fire. I could hear the gunshot from him. He has promised to call back,” Mr Dungus, an assistant superintendent of police, said.
