Aisha Under ‘Attack’ For Supporting Gay Rights In Nigeria
The co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has come under attack on Twitter for supporting gay rights in Nigeria.
Naija News understands that the activist on Monday, January 11 took to her verified account on the micro-blogging platform to say educate her followers that they do not need anyone to like their choice of sexuality.
According to Yesufu, homosexuality was being practised freely in Nigeria about hundred years ago, adding that she had witnessed same-sex marriages in the early 80s.
She tweeted: “You do not need anyone liking your choice of sexuality. All you need is being given the right to practise your sexuality. Homosexuality was freely practised in Nigeria for hundreds of years and I witnessed same-sex marriages in the 80s.
“So calm down, it is not a new discovery.”

The activist’s tweet, however, did not get down well with some of her followers and other Nigerians on the social app as they condemn her in totality.

God Himself destroyed a whole generation because of this. Sit this one out Mrs Yesufu.

Alhamdulillah alot of us have been vindicated by this her tweet. People like her and that asylum seeker @FakhuusHashim are nothing but agent of West who are ready to do anything for a popularity and try to change the mind set of northerners.
