IGP, Mohammed Assures Nigerians Of Improved Security In 2021
The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, on Monday assured Nigerians of improved security in 2021.
Mohammaed in his statement promised that the Nigeria Police Force will be determined in fighting kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, cultism, cybercrime, sexual and gender-based violence in 2021.
According to the IGP, the police would be aggressive, proactive, intelligence-driven and community-based crime-fighting strategies will be implemented by the Force in ensuring the safety of Nigerians.
Mohammed further stated that the force will work with other security agencies and Nigerians in its plan to end insecurity.
The IGP while reviewing the achievement of the force in 2020 noted that a total of 21,296 criminal suspects involved in various violent crimes were arrested and 3,347 firearms, 133,496 ammunition and 960 stolen vehicles recovered.
Also, 1,002 kidnap victims were safely rescued from their abductors and reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said Boko Haram insurgents have been decimated in the Northeast part of the country.
In an interview with NAN on Monday, Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, John Enenche, said the Nigerian military has also checkmated the operations of the terrorists in the troubled region.
