Lagos Releases List Of 88 COVID-19 Vaccination Centres

Lagos State government has confirmed the delivery and receipt of the state doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government.

Naija News reports on Tuesday, March 9 that Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced on his Twitter account the delivery of the state remedies for the dreaded COVID-19 disease.

Akosile in his tweet prayed to God that the world should see the end of the dreaded Coronavirus disease soon.

Naija News understands that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu while speaking at the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration organised by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation held at Police College, Ikeja earlier, confirmed the delivery of the doses. Sanwo-Olu testified that the State Government received the vaccines at 4 am on Tuesday, assuring citizens that the vaccines have been kept in a safe place.

The governor declared that the vaccination exercise will soon kick off in the state in line with the scheduled guidelines laid down by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

Governor Sanwo-Olu also implored Lagosians to continue to keep to all the COVID-19 protocols like wearing facemasks, washing and sanitising their hands and observing social distance.

The vaccines were provided by COVAX, in an unprecedented global effort to ensure equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine, Naija News reports.

Meanwhile, the former governor of Lagos State and the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has been urged to join the 2023 presidential race.

Naija News reports that the politician on Tuesday, March 9 received the mandate of the Nigerian Youths Movement for Tinubu (NYMT).
