La Liga: Barcelona To Sell Three Players To Raise Fund For Next Summer
La Liga giants, FC Barcelona are reportedly open to let go of three first-team players to raise more funds to shop for quality players, Naija News understands.
The Spanish club is understood to be facing some financial constraints and the new manager, Xavi Hernandez, is keen on bringing in top-class footballers to help the Catalans maintain good stand.
According to Cadena SER, Barca wants to sell the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo.
With this, it is believed that the club will have enough budget to restructure their squad next summer.
Naija News understands that Bayern Munich had shown interest in Ter Stegen, while De Jong and Araujo have consistently been linked with a move to the English Premier League with numerous teams said to be interested.
The Blaugrana are currently in the seventh position on the Premier League table with 23 points from 14 matches.
Barca will on Saturday, December 4 battle points with Real Betis in a LaLiga tie, Naija News reports.
Meanwhile, Uruguayan professional footballer, Edinson Cavani, has reportedly decided he is not extending his contract with Manchester United.
Naija News recalls that the 34-year-old striker joined the English Premier League side on 5th October 2020 on a year contract deal.
Cavani was signed to Old Trafford by the former club manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, following the arrival of Raff Rangnick as Manchester United’s new interim manager, Cavani has reportedly made up his mind to join La Liga giants, FC Barcelona.
According to the Times report, Cavani made the decision because he was unsure if he would fit in in the new squad to be set up by the current manager.
