The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, has regained his freedom after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Naija News had reported that Okechukwu was quizzed by the anti-graft agency on January 29, 2022, over a case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N1.3billion.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain had arrived at the headquarters of the commission at about 1.30 pm to honour an invitation but was detained and interrogated.
In a chat with The Punch on Saturday, EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Okechukwu was released on bail on Monday.
He, however, stated that an investigation is ongoing to unravel the corruption allegation levelled against the VON boss.
The EFCC spokesman said: “He was released on bail on Monday, even as investigations continue.”
