Lagos Govt Orders Arrest Of Developer, Others Over Building Collapse

Three person are suspected to be dead after a two storey building collapsed in Ochanja Central Market, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The incident occurred on Saturday at about 5:45pm

Eyewitness told the nation that the building collapsed due to further development on the already weak structure without necessary reinforcement.

Traders were seen rushing to safety with their goods to avoid being trapped in the building.

On Friday, a group of traders had protested against erecting new structures on the existing weak and old buildings.

Another source told the publication that the yet to be identified deceased were on the site when the collapse happened.

In other news, bandits, have on Friday afternoon attacked a community in Zamfara State, killing not less than 30 people and kidnaping many others, mostly women.

The affected areas were Nassarawa Mai Fara in Tsafe local government area, Yar Katsina in Bungudu local government area and Nasarawa village in Bakura local government area.

Various sources informed Premium Times the reason for the attack on Nassarawa Mai Fara in Tsafe local government was the inability of the locals to pay a Levy of N40 million imposed on them by Ada Aleru, a notorious banditry kingpin operating in the area and the Faskari part of Katsina State.
