A middle-aged woman has been feared killed after she was knocked down by a motorcycle in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Naija News gathered the lady was knocked down by a supporter of a political party who was riding a motorcycle.

The incident happened at about 10:12 am in PU048, Salasi opposite Post Office, in Karu, Abuja Municipal Area Council when the woman, a voter, was attempting to cross the road to her polling unit.

The motorcycle rider who carried the flag of one of the political parties rode in a frenzy as if he was under the influence.

Voters in the area immediately apprehended the motorcyclist and handed him over to security operatives deployed for the election.

Meanwhile, Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has assured residents of the Oji-River Local Government Area of the State of good leadership.

The governor pledged while speaking ahead of the February 23 local council elections in the state.

Ugwuanyi, who was praised by stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said that the party if it wins the forthcoming council elections, will serve its people with the fear of God.

Members of the party had during its last rally assured the governor that the PDP will record a landslide victory as the party was the heartbeat of the council area.

Speaking at the rally, Hyde Onuaguluchi, who represented Enugu West Senatorial District in the Second Republic, declared that Ugwuanyi was firmly in charge in the state.

He maintained that he had never believed, followed or trusted any other person other than the governor.
