A footballer identified simply as Afam has lost his life during a football match in Anambra.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday, February 21, during a match between Iwene Tansi Football Club and another local football club at Odum Layout.

A facebook user by the name Chukwuneke Ugochukwu Bishop said the young man slumped during a football match and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

He wrote: “Football fans

“Yesterday 21st February 2022 was black Monday to Iwene Tansi FC Odum lay-out Obosi anambra state

“The guy in this video is Afam by nameHe failed down yesterday in a group match.We Rush him to hospitals to bring him back but he did not make it alive. Afam may your soul rest in peace amen.”

In other news, a pastor, Peter OmopeĀ  attached to the Celestial Church of Christ, Jesu Yan Parish, situated at Olambe junction Akute, Ogun State has been apprehended by the state police for attempted murder.

Omope reportedly shot an 18-year-old female guest worshipper, Kemi Johnson at the entrance of the church.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirming the incident on Saturday said that the one Deji Olalekan made a report at the police divisional headquarters, Ajuwon, Akute.

Oyeyemi informed the police that he and the victim took their boss whom they are working with as a driver and housemaid respectively to the airport. Read more
