Nigerians React As National Grid Collapses Again
Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the system collapse of the national electricity grid leading to power outages across the country.
Recall that no fewer than eight states including Lagos will again experience blackouts, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company confirmed.
The states affected include Lagos, Enugu, Kaduna, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and the Imo States, among others.
While the issue persists, EEDC in a terse text to its customers on Monday said that the system collapse occurred on the national grid at 10:40 am today.
Meanwhile, Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company had also confirmed the grid collapse to its customers, assuring that power would soon be restored.
Also briefing its customers about the pressing issue, the Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC said that the system collapse affected supply in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and the Imo States.
Following the development, Nigerians have now taken to Twitter to react to the collapse of the national electricity grid which led to a blackout across the country.

National Grid has been collapsing every other month for a very long time. Maybe the last 20 years (if not more)
Nothing shocking here. Nothing at all https://t.co/63ex0RAHFQ pic.twitter.com/AmkPCGV12r— Igwe Osita the 1st (@Kevwekofi) March 14, 2022
Nigeria’s National Grid is like that Uni software portal that serves so many students (numbers increase every semester) but never receives upgrade in code & servers.
Crash yesterday. Crash today. Crash tomorrow. Crash fore…God forbid.

Not sure this would make any difference because it didn't seem like the national grid has been operational in the past few months. https://t.co/PA1CmDc41g

I have always said (and you can check previous tweets), states should be responsible for their power and stop all this National grid nonsense.
You will see an improvement in power from Governors that want to serve their people. The load is too much.

Who even brought this idea of generating power and transferring it to the national grid? This is the principal reason why this nation continues to wallow in darkness. Allow each state to generate and distribute power, then there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

The National Grid in Nigeria 🇳🇬 collapses almost every quarter. Is it held by the tip of a thread? Even Ukraine 🇺🇦 with all the bombing and shooting, still has light.
