Man Strangles Eight-Month-Old Son To Death After Quarrel With Wife
A Ugandan man has been arrested by the Territorial Police in Isingiro district, for allegedly killing his eight-month-old son.
ASP Samson Kasasira, a Rwizi Regional Police spokesperson, on Monday identified the suspect as Monday Julias, 27, a resident of Rwenturagara cell, Kyarubambura parish.
According to ASP Kasasira, the suspect who is also a teacher at Green Stone Primary School, after a domestic misunderstanding with his wife, Atuhaire, 20, allegedly strangled his son, Asiimwe Julius, to death on Sunday, March 13 and dumped the body in a swamp.
Kasasira further revealed that a report of a missing child was filed, on Monday, March 14, after which the suspect was arrested and on interrogation confessed to killing his child out of anger from the argument that ensure between him and his wife
Monday then led the police to the scene where they retrieved the body and took it to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
Condemning all forms of violence, Kasasira urged members of the public to always report to the relevant authorities in times of grievances for mediation and reconciliation.
