Obiano Leaves As Soludo Is Sworn-in As New Anambra Governor
Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has been sworn in as the new governor of Anambra State.
Naija News reports that Soludo had taken his oath of office in the company of his wife, Mrs Nonye, alongside his Deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim and his wife.
Soludo was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice Onochie M. Anyachebelu.
It was gathered that the former Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has left the venue of the swearing-in ceremony.
He left the venue with his wife, Ebelechukwu, who trekked out of the venue at exactly 9.55 am.
Obiano had arrived in a convoy of cars, amidst cheers from Anambra people.
He is currently inspecting the guard of honor, his last task as governor.
Recall that the Head, Soludo Media Office, Joe Anatune in a statement had said the ceremony would be held in a low-key event at the Government House, Agu-Awka.
The ceremony which would have few guests in attendance would be devoid of celebrations that are usually associated with such events.
The statement noted that Soludo after the swearing-in would inspect a guard of honour and consequently make his inaugural speech.
Anatune further stated that an inter-denominational service would hold briefly before the new governor sets out to work.
