Anambra Police Speaks On Soludo’s House Being Attacked By Unknown Gunmen
The Anambra State Police Command has denied claims stating that the house of the governor of Anambra state, Charles Soludo was attacked by unknown gunmen.
Earlier reports had claimed that the governor’s home in Ekwulobia was stormed by gunmen.
However, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, released a statement which explained that the police observation point along Ekwulobia expressway came under attack in the late hours of Thursday, April 14.
Ikenga said that the mobile police posted at the point gallantry fought back during the attack. Unfortunately, three of the security operatives sustained injuries.
He said following the quick deployment of operatives in the area by the command, peace has since returned in the area.
Meanwhile, presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has slammed former President Olusegun Obasanjo over an alleged plan to unsettle the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Adesina quoted a report as saying that Obasanjo had rallied all former Nigerian leaders to pass a vote of no confidence on President Buhari over the worsening insecurity in the country.
He said that it was only General Yakubu Gowon that rejected the idea, adding that he had waited for the former president to debunk the story but had refused to do. Read more
