Tinubu Meets APC Chairman, Northern Governors Over Running Mate
2023 Presidential hopeful, Bola Tinubu is reportedly in a closed-door meeting with northern governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The meeting Naija News learnt is being held in Asokoro, Abuja.
This is coming hours after APC national leader was declared the winner of the party’s presidential primary held in Eagles Square Abuja between Monday 6th to 8th June 2022.
Though the agenda of the emergency meeting was not made public, there are assertions that it is to consult on the party’s next plans ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Also present at the meeting is the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Reports said about 11 of the APC governors were in attendance at the meeting which will also serve as an avenue to again congratulate Tinubu for his victory in the primaries.
Naija News understands that Tinubu had earlier met with the party’s National Working Committee led by Abdullahi Adamu after winning the party’s ticket.
However, the presidential candidate during the meeting may also discuss with the party stakeholders how to start the process of picking a running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.
