Atiku Reacts As Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume Win Medals For Nigeria At World Athletics Championship
Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the medals won by Nigerian athletes at the World Athletics Championship held in the United States.
It will be recalled as earlier reported by Naija News that Tobi Amusan won Nigeria’s first ever gold medal in the just concluded World Athletics Championship.
Ese Brume also claimed a silver medal.
Amusan became Nigeria’s first-ever World Champion in athletics as Team Nigeria would go on to celebrate another podium finish in the Long Jump, with Ese Brume’s 7.02m leap.
Reacting to the feat, Atiku on Monday took to his Twitter page to celebrate the Nigerian athletes.
First, he wrote: “All hail Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, the record-breaking women’s 100m hurdles champion. I am particularly proud of this feat, and it underscores my plan to refocus investments in sports, and creative sectors, amongst others.”
