Reactions Trail Viral Pyrates Confraternity Video Mocking Bola Tinubu’s Health
Nigerians have reacted to a video showing some members of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), popularly known as the Pyrates Confraternity, mocking the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Naija News had reported that in a viral video, members of the Confraternity were seen gyrating to a song that mocked the former Lagos State governor for a speech he made in June in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Tinubu had during the controversial speech stated that ‘Emi lo kan’, meaning ‘It’s my turn’ to get power after President Muhammadu Buhari.
In the viral video, the members of the Pyrates Confraternity sang, “Hand dey shake, leg dey shake, Baba wey no well, e de shout emi lo kan (Hands are shaking, legs are shaking. A sick old man is shouting ‘it’s my turn’).
“Emi lo kan (2ce), Baba wey no well, him dey shout emi lokan (It’s my turn (2ce), a sick old man is shouting ‘it’s my turn’”.
Following the development, some Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to express their views regarding the video.

That video of members of the Pyrates Confraternity mocking Tinubu with his "emi lokan" slogan, ought to tell you that people don't want the man. Note that Wole Soyinka was the founding father of the confraternity, so you can hardly say it is tribalistic.

Celebrate Pyrates Confraternity today. Tomorrow, the Neo Black Axe Movement of Africa will do their own. Then, Buccaneers, Vikings and Eiye Confraternity too will get involved. Is this what we want for politics in Nigeria. Isn't it better to focus on education, health & security?

I was totally disappointed in the Pyrates Confraternity, to be honest. In school, I knew them as "Gentlemen." I don't remember them ever getting into a fight with any other frat in my time.
Quite sad. https://t.co/uK2orNU78m

Respect to the Pyrates Confraternity. They’ve maintained an interesting energy in calling out societal ills over the years.
Love it. 👏🏾👏🏾 https://t.co/eLTaqYSjU5
