PDP Crisis: Deji Adeyanju Speaks On Wike’s Demands To Atiku
Political activist, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the demands made by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Naija News reports that the camp of Governor Wike stated that the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, must resign from office.
The camp of the governor also demanded that it be allowed to produce Ayu’s replacement and the person should come from the South-West.
Wike’s camp also asked that Atiku must do only one term for them to agree to work with him and they should be accommodated in the new PDP government if it wins the 2023 presidential election.
The Wike camp also requested to produce the Senate President and some Principal officers of the National Assembly.
Wike’s camp in return for the demands placed before Atiku, would play an important role in marketing Atiku’s presidential ambition and also provide logistics for the general campaign.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Monday morning, Adeyanju said the demands of Governor Wike are very simple and not outrageous.
He wrote: “Read a statement credited to some so-called PDP stakeholders saying Wike’s demands are outrageous, how? Ayu is from the North like Atiku & he promised to resign if a northerner candidate emerges. Atiku has said severally he will do only one term. A northerner about to finish 8yrs.
“Wike’s demands are very simple: Ayu must go so a Chairman from South takes over. Atiku must do only one term for them to agree to work with him. How are these 2 demands outrageous?“
