Alleged Fraud: Detained Ogun Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo Released
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released embattled speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo on bail, 48 hours after he was arrested.

The speaker who is engulfed in a financial scandal involving the former deputy speaker, Oludare Kadiri was arrested over alleged fraud.
Kadiri accused the speaker of embezzlement of funds, the assembly accused Kadiri of using the anti-graft agency to witch-hunt the speaker and other legislators.
The speaker’s media aide, Abdulgaffar Adeleye while confirming Oluomo’s release on Saturday, September 3 to Premuim Times, stated the speaker got home on Saturday morning.
Ex-Plateau Governor, Jang Acquitted Of N6bn Fraud Charges
Meanwhile, Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos recently discharged and acquitted the former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, of N6.3 billion corruption charges.
The presiding judge, Justice Christy Dabup, in a judgement delivered on Friday, dismissed the corruption charges levelled against Jang by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Dabup also discharged Jang’s co-defendant, Yusuf Pam, a former cashier in the office of the Secretary to the Plateau State Government.
Naija News understands that the said suit has lingered for over four years.
The case file claimed that Jang and Pam misappropriated the sum of N6.3bn before they vacated office in 2015, an allegation that they denied.
