Man Set Ablaze Five Stepchildren In Ondo
On Saturday, the Ondo State command of the Nigeria Police Force arrested one Ojo Joseph for allegedly setting five children ablaze.
The 54-year-old, currently being investigated at the command’s headquarters, reportedly set the five of his stepchildren living in the Fagun Crescent area of Ondo town on fire.
A resident of the area who spoke on condition of anonymity told newsmen that the suspect accused his wife, who happens to be the victim’s mother, of offending him.
He also claimed that the suspect committed the act because his wife denied him having sex.
Naija News learnt that Joseph poured gasoline on the room while the kids were fast asleep, and one of them died in the ensuing fire.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Akure on Sunday, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Funmilayo Odunlami, said the incident occurred on Saturday and that the suspect was being investigated while the victims (stepchildren) were being treated at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.
