Ebonyi Civil Servants To Get N15,000 Christmas Bonus Each
Meanwhile, Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, has approved the sum of N15,000 each as a Christmas bonus for civil servants in the state.
Naija News gathered that along with the bonus was also a directive that civil servants should be paid their November and December salaries together before December 10, 2022.
The Accountant General of the state, Emeka Nwankwo, has confirmed receiving the governor’s directive, and plans have begun to meet the payment deadline.
Umahi, in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Cooks Oko, said the directive was to give civil servants in the state ample time and resources to plan ahead of the Christmas and New year celebrations.
The governor disclosed that the gesture was in line with the state government’s social contract with the civil servants to ensure they enjoy the holiday season, despite the late arrival of FAAC allocations to the state in recent months.
The statement also said the governor’s benevolence is expected to encourage civil servants to be more diligent and dedicated to their duties.
