Ayu: Wike, Ortom, Others Meet Bode George In Lagos
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his allies are reportedly in a closed-door meeting with the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George.
The five aggrieved PDP governors, which include Wike, Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), are reportedly discussing pressing matters in Lagos with George and other PDP chieftains.
Other chieftains present at the meeting include the former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, and the former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, among others.
According to The PUNCH, Governor Makinde told newsmen before the meeting proceeded behind closed doors that the governors seeking the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, were being backed by the leaders and elders of the party present at the meeting.
2023: Why Atiku And I Met With Jonathan – Okowa
Last Thursday, PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar met with former president Goodluck Jonathan.
Atiku was in the company of the Delta State Governor and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
Naija News had earlier reported that the former minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka and several others were at the meeting.
The former vice president and the PDP delegates met with Jonathan at his residence in the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking on the meeting, Atiku, in a post on his Twitter account, wrote, “Last night, I led a delegation alongside my vice presidential candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on a courtesy visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja.”
While Atiku failed to disclose the details of his meeting with the former president, his running mate noted that they discussed the plans to recover Nigeria with Jonathan.
The Delta State Governor confirmed they had a great meeting with Jonathan at his residence on Thursday night.
