Davido’s Signee Triggers Fans With Birthday Wish To Singer

DMW First Lady and Afropop singer, Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola popularly known as Liya, has come under heavy criticism for her birthday wish to her boss, Davido on his 30th birthday.

The singer turned a year older on November 21st and received love from his crew members and fans alike, despite mourning the death of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke who drowned in his banana island residence last month.

Amongst those to celebrate the singer is Liya, who took to her Instagram to share a photo with the DMW boss captioning it: ”Happy Birthday, David. I pray you find comfort today. I pray you always have a reason to smile. I love you. Thank you for all you do. I pray for your prayers and may God continue to bless you and protect you. Amen”

The post, however, triggered an uproar with fans of the singer who found the post disrespectful because she called the singer ‘David’ instead of ‘Davido.’

Reacting to Liya’s birthday wish, Jeffandsum wrote: ‘Put some respect in that name, you little Ilya. Why not call him Davido than David.’
