Court Nullifies Abia APGA Guber Primary
The governorship primary election of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) conducted on May 29, 2022, in Abia State has been nullified.
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja gave the verdict on Thursday, issuing a 14-day ultimatum for the party to conduct a fresh election.
The presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako, gave the order following a suit filed by a governorship aspirant, Chief Chikwe Udensi, challenging the outcome of the primary election, Naija News understands.
Udensi approached the court to express his dissatisfaction over Professor Greg Ibe’s emergence as the party’s candidate.
On Wednesday, Justice Nyako ruled that from evidence and testimonies of witnesses, the primary election the May 29 primary election was “flawed and marred with irregularities.”
Although Udensi had urged the court to declare him the winner in place of Ibe, the court resorted to ordering a fresh primary to be conducted.
