A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Danladi Bako, has boasted that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, will defeat his opponents in the forthcoming election.

According to him, with President Muhammadu Buharis mandate, the Northern region will deliver not less than 12 million votes for the former Governor of Lagos State.

Naija News reports that Bako, a Director of Strategic Communications for the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), said this while reacting to the massive turnout at the party’s campaign flag-off in Jos, Plateau State.

Bako said the bloc of supporters that graced the campaign rally was an indication that President Buhari is still commanding huge followership.

The Sokoto State former commissioner further boasts that Tinubu will at least get more than 25 per cent of votes in 36 states and FCT.

He said: “As far as the 2023 election is concerned, the North will deliver 12 million votes to APC. I believe there is no serious candidate from the North that can bring the votes that Buhari normally brings.

”There is no problem with this as governors in Northwest have won election twice and they will ensure a landslide victory for APC.

”The president is extremely popular and his opinion matters a lot in elections, while the other candidates are not from the region.

”So, the APC presidential candidate will garner enough votes to win in the Northwest and Nigeria in general.”

He added that Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda factor, being the leader of the party in Sokoto state, would also work in favour of APC in the state.

”Wamakko, though no longer the governor of the state still has large following as he has continued to accord top priority to the welfare of the people of the state,” Bako noted.
