Your Best Not Good Enough
The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign has slammed President Muhamadu Buhari over his recent comment in the United States.
In a meeting with Al-Mahfoudh Bin Bayyah, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Forum, and Bob Roberts, his deputy, President Buhari said he has done his best for the country in seven-and-a-half years.
According to a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, the President said his government is trying its possible best to address many challenges facing the nation.
He had said: “We are big in size and population, facing many challenges, but in many areas, we are trying. In seven-and-a-half years, I have done my best.”
Reacting to the statement, the LP Presidential Campaign Council said the President’s best was not good enough and has left Nigeria worse than he met it in 2015.
In a chat with Vanguard, in Abuja, on Wednesday, the Chief Spokesperson of the LP campaign council, Yunusa Tanko, describe the statement made by the President as “unfortunate”.
Tanko said Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed Nigerians, hence the reason behind the clarion call by patriotic Nigerians for Peter Obi to rescue the country in 2023.
