Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari over his congratulatory message to Morocco at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Naija News reports that Buhari, in a message to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, had congratulated the Moroccan football team, the Atlas Lions, for reaching the Semi-finals at the tournament.

Buhari, through his media aide, Garba Shehu, on Monday, in Abuja, commended Morocco for becoming the fourth African country to ever qualify for the World Cup quarterfinals.

But in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Omokri said the Morocco team might lose the match against France due to the message from the Nigerian President.

He said President Buhari had no business congratulating Morocco, expressing hope that the Nigerian leader hasn’t infected the team with a “negative spirit.”

He wrote, “I feel for Morocco. There is something called a negative human spirit. Often, those who harbour it are not conscious of it. Buhari had no business congratulating Morocco. I really pray that he hasn’t infected them with his NHS. Buhari has the Midas Touch in reverse!

Naija News reports that the Atlas Lions lost 0-2 to the Les Blues of France in the second semifinals played on Wednesday night in Qatar.

The French national team will now play against Argentina in the finals scheduled for Sunday, December 18.

In another tweet after the game, Omokri said Buhari’s negative human spirit made Morocco lose the match, saying that the President shouldn’t have congratulated the team.

He wrote: “Buhari negative human spirit has done it again for Morocco so eerily in the game! Why did he congratulate them?”
