Rudeboy Complains About Alarming Rate Of Police Extortion
Popular Nigerian music star, Paul Okoye of the PSquare twin group, aka Rudeboy, has come out to complain about the increase in police extortion in recent times.
Naija News reports that the singer took to social media to condemn the act of police extortion saying if he talks now one spokesman would come out and attack him.
According to Rudeboy, the rate at which some men of the police force extort people has become alarming and annoying.
The singer in an Insta story post gave a brief account of how a policeman almost emptied someone’s account for no good reason.
Rudeboy wrote “The amount of police extortion these days is very alarming.
“When I talk now, one stupid spokesman will come and attack me.
“This stupid policeman almost empty his (someone’s) account just for nothing.”
Meanwhile, Naija News reported earlier that the Imo State Police Command has confirmed the sack of seven police officers in the state over an alleged extortion case.
This platform gathered that the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Michael Abattam said the even former force men were arrested on November 8 in an unnamed bank at Umuahia, Abia State trying to conspire to extort money from an innocent victim.
Naija News understands that the former policemen were sacked after being charged to the Magistrate Court in Owerri with Charge Sheet Number: No. OW/746C/2022.
Abattam gave the names of the dismissed men as F/No. 462315 Sgt. Ohakim Chibuzo, F/No. 505455 Sgt. Irome Finian, F/No. 505592 Sgt. George Osueke, F/No. 511966 Cpl. Kelechi Onuegbu, F/No. 512320 Cpl.
Others include Nwagoro Isdore, F/No. 528165 PC Nwadike Stephen and F/No. 528156 PC Ihemtuge Plastidus.
The Imo police PRO said their dismissal was based on the offence of Discreditable Conduct, Corrupt Practices and Leaving Beat.
