India Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant Is Stable After Car Crash
Rishabh Pant, the India wicketkeeper who was hurt in a car accident, is in stable condition in the hospital.
According to the police, the 25-year-old Rishabh Pant “dozed off” and lost control of his vehicle. The car overturned twice and burned.
According to reports from India, Pant was hurt in the back, head, and leg.
Near his hometown of Roorkee in the northern state of Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant crashed between Mangalaur and Nursing.
“Rishabh is stable and undergoing scans,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah tweeted.
“I have spoken to his family and the doctors treating him. We are closely monitoring his progress and will provide him with all the necessary support.”
Ricky Ponting, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals and a former captain of Australia, wished Pant a quick recovery in a tweet that read: “Hope you’re on the mend and back on your feet soon.”
Pant has represented India in 33 Tests, 30 One-Day Internationals, and 66 Twenty20 matches.
On December 25, he helped India win the 2-0 Test series in Bangladesh by contributing the most runs (93 in the first innings).
Due to the accident, Rishabh Pant, won’t feature in the three Twenty20 matches and three one-day internationals against Sri Lanka, which start on January 3 in Mumbai.
