FCT Minister, Wike Hints On 'Best' Palliative For Abuja Residents

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says no amount of abuse can make him change his mind about the presidential candidate he intends to support for the 2023 election.

Wike said his mind is already made up and detractors can continue doing whatever they want but he won’t be bothered.

Naija News reports the Rivers State Governor spoke on Wednesday at Egbeda Community during the kick-off of the construction of Akpabu-Egbeda-Omoku Link Road in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.

He pointed out that even some people who can’t command twenty-five votes are among those criticizing him for his stand but added that such would have dire political consequences because they would end up in bitter tears when the reality of their political loss would stare them in the face eventually.

Wike said: “If anybody likes, say what you want to say that I am working for so and so person, it’s their business.

“Say that I am not working for so and so person, it’s their business.

“That will not make me change my mind about where we are heading to. Do you understand me?

“So, if they like, they can make speculations. After all, that is why the word, speculation is there.

“Some of them, who do not have 25 votes are busy abusing leaders. When you finished abusing leaders (us), you will pay.”

Nothing Goes For Nothing

The Rivers State Governor stressed that those who want to get votes at any level in the state must be ready to give value in exchange.

He said developmental projects are what the electorate deserves for their vote and his administration would continue to do that.

“We are here talking to our people, they are there in radio stations and television houses. We are here talking to our people. When you are finished, by that time, it’ll be too late.

“Be bold to ask such politicians when they come, ‘what did you bring for us?’ ‘You come with empty hand, you will go with empty hand.

“You come with projects, we give you votes’. ‘You come with promises, we give you promises,” Wike stressed while thanking the people of Egbeda for their support.
