How Davido Secretly Married Chioma Five Days After Ifeanyi’s Death
Details of how Nigerian award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, secretly married his fiance, Chioma Avril Rowland, barely five days after their son’s death have emerged.
Naija News recalls that Davido and Chioma lost their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, to a drowning accident at his father’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos State.
The tragic incident led to Davido’s absence on social media and the cancellation of his music show which was scheduled for November 25, 2022.
The ‘If’ crooner made his first public appearance during his uncle’s inauguration ceremony as the Governor of Osun State.
According to Daily Sun, Chioma’s kinsmen stopped Adeleke’s family from burying Ifeanyi, with claims that the deceased was their son since their daughter, Chioma was not legally married to Davido, a tradition practiced in Igbo Land.
Adeleke’s family succumbed and Chioma’s bride price on Friday, November 4, 2022, in a quiet and secret traditional marriage ceremony in Lagos before the deceased was buried on November 5.
Chioma’s kinsmen from Ezeala Odu, Owerri Nkwoji in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, hosted Davido’s family, at their family house in Lekki, Lagos, where the traditional marriage took place on November 4, 2022.
The final marriage rites were concluded in Chioma’s hometown in Imo State, during the festive period of 2022 and on January 3, 2023, where her father settled the Umunna and Umuada.
