The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has reacted to reports making the rounds that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has been flown abroad for urgent medical treatment.

Naija News understands that a report on Sunday, January 8, 2023, sighted on SaharaReporters, claimed that the PDP flagbearer is sick and has been flown to London, the United Kingdom, for a medical treatment.

The media platform quoted a source as saying that the Wazirin Adamawa was flown from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to the UK this weekend amid presidential campaign rally schedules.

“Atiku is not feeling fine; he is in the hospital receiving treatment,” the source who is reportedly a member of the PDP PCC was quoted as saying.

“That’s why he is not back in Nigeria for the presidential campaign. He was in Dubai but has now left Dubai for London for treatment. He has been flown to the UK for treatment. That is why he is still abroad,” he added.

However, a contrary submission has been made by the spokesperson of the PDP presidential campaign council, Senator Dino Melaye.

Naija News reports that Melaye took to his official Twitter handle to debunk the reports, saying Atiku is hundred per cent fit.

According to the former lawmaker, the PDP candidate was invited by the British Government, urging Nigerians to disregard contrary reports making the rounds.

The statement reads, “Disregard the lies of unrepentant liars. Atiku is 100% fit and in super form healthwise.

“The British Government invited the leading presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, just like they had invited Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi earlier.

“Nigerians should henceforth disregard drug induced statements propelled by Ikebe super like online medium”.
