West Ham United has bought English striker Danny Ings from Aston Villa for around £15 million on Thursday, January 19.

Danny Ings joined the struggling West Ham to compete with Gianluca Scamacca, Michail Antonio, and other members of the London club’s front line.

Before he left Aston Villa, Ings scored six Premier League goals in 18 games this season.

West Ham has only scored 15 goals in 19 league games this season, and this is largely to blame for their difficulties in the Premier League.

They are marginally ahead of Southampton and Everton in the table based on goal differential. They are presently occupying the 18th spot.

Ings, 30, moved from Southampton to Villa in 2021 for £25 million, but he never found the same level of success there as he had at St. Mary’s. The three-cap England forward nevertheless managed to score 14 goals for the Villans in 52 games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, if West Ham loses their home game against Everton on Saturday, they might decide to fire manager David Moyes.

Moyes is facing criticism since his squad has only earned one point in its last seven league games.

In each of the previous two seasons under Moyes, West Ham finished seventh and sixth but this season is looking scary for most fans of the relegation-threatened team.
